John Swardson LIVE in the cafe every fourth Wednesday (Americana) $10
Wednesday, March 27 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Tonight is the second of 3 shows over successive months that feature one of the Twin Cities most established songwriters.
Based in Minneapolis, John Swardson writes songs that bleed through the holes in the soles of his boots. “A songwriter of uncommon emotional detail, depth, and empathy.”
His catalog includes three records of originals, another soon to be released and a wide variety of covers that dart through his own music like Starlings at dusk.
John has opened for many influences over the last handful of years including:
Sturgill Simpson, BJ Barham (American Aquarium), Ben Nichols (Lucero), Semisonic, Gene Ween, Tommy Stinson, and Echo and The Bunnymen.
A new record ‘Blood Moon’ with his band, John Swardson and Bad Blood is due early winter ’18.
John will be solo the first set playing songs from his previous releases(Ablaze, Silverdust, and Dogs in The Woods) as well as new songs and covers. The 2nd set will feature his band Bad Blood, playing their upcoming release Blood Moon in it’s entirety.
Bad Blood is comprised of Paul Odegaard on trumpet, Jason Murray on stand up bass, Bryan Hanna on drums and John on guitar and vocals.
