Mestifonía is a Minnesota-based group that blends Colombian, Bolivian, and American talent. The group plays music from the Iberian Peninsula and South America, bringing to life the sounds of fado, flamenco, cueca, tango, and more.
Singer Paula Argüello (Colombia) and guitarist Gabo Blondel (Bolivia) met at McNally Smith College of Music. They came together out of a shared love for the folk music of South America and the desire to learn the music of the Iberian Peninsula, a place that so deeply influenced the history and culture of South America. The talented duo then invited cellist Julia Floberg (Minnesota) into the group, creating additional layers of timbre and cultural fusion.
Julian Manzara is a jazz guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter from Minneapolis, MN. His quartet shows span fast tempos and dramatic ballads, balancing originals with standards, and funky backbeats with swing. He has been featured twice in the Twin Cities Jazz Festival and twice in the Eau Claire Jazz Festival.
