Teague Alexy is probably best known for his Americana songwriting in the nationally-touring brothers duo Hobo Nephews of Uncle Frank. Or, maybe you remember 2004 when Teague Alexy with Medication was filling dance floors around Minnesota, or you’ve heard that Teague is an award-winning author, or that he grew up in a South Jersey rap band.

Since Hobo Nephews 2015 album American Shuffle, Teague has extended his New Folklore album into an illustrated book called The New Folklore: Lyrical Tales for Dreamers & Thinkers with corresponding new music, created his storytelling podcast/column Wisecracks & Roadside Flats, recorded his Circuit Sessions album with Minnesota super-producers Actual Wolf and Steve Garrington (Low), and recorded an album of primarily Irish traditional songs called Irish American with Trampled By Turtles mandolinist Erik Berry.

“I’m back to writing songs and playing with my Duluth band now,” says Teague. “All these excursions and side projects were like advanced classes in my own travelling songwriting school.”

Teague’s songwriting is clearly influenced by his home in Minnesota, his childhood in New Jersey, and life as a travelling musical hobo. Teague’s storytelling has deeper roots to his Irish ancestry. A ‘Teague’ in ancient Ireland was a travelling storytelling poet.

Sarah Krueger is Eau Claire, WI born and Duluth, MN built. She’s drawn from both cities to craft a lustrous folk sound that serves as a breathing foundation for her earnest and straightforward songwriting. With songs that stand upon a moody brightness and authentic vibe, you’ll often find Sarah onstage and in the studio with a rotating cohort of applauded artists to fill them out just right. Krueger’s zealous performing and prevailing voice offer a fresh presence to the stage and seem to hit all the soft spots in the complicated space between us all.
