The release show for House of Illusion will feature a full band including JT Bates, Erik Koskinen, Matt Patrick, and Aaron Fabbrini.
Matt Hannah is a Michigan-native and Minneapolis-based folk Americana singer-songwriter. His sophomore album, Dreamland, was chosen as a best of 2017 album by Reviler as well as KVSC, and was described as “not only original…but inspired” by Babysue and as an “Americana fantasy” by City Pages. Hannah faithfully blends his love of Americana songwriters with a passion for the riff-based intensity of 90s rock.
A fan of film director Ingmar Bergman, Hannah has always felt drawn to the idea of drawing a “magical circle” around yourself to keep reality out and enchantments in. His third studio album, House of Illusion, explores the intimate spaces where that magical circle can endure—from a childhood bedroom, to a vintage guitar shop, to the last surviving flophouse on New York City’s Bowery.
Jon Rodine is a Midwestern singer and songwriter, and his love for American music—blues, country, folk, soul and rock & roll—is reflected in his songs. He’s been awarded “Performer of the Year” by City Pages, and his latest album “Last Star” showed up in many “Best Local Album” lists. He’s currently at work on a new record.
