Mother Banjo + Jaspar Lepak $12

Friday, November 11 @ 9:00 pm - 11:00 pm

Folk-charting songwriter Jaspar Lepak joins Mother Banjo and her award-winning band for a special show of soulful songwriting, timely feminist anthems and lots of fun collaborations between these long-time friends.

Featuring Ellen Stanley on banjo and vocals, Mother Banjo is a New England-raised, Minneapolis-based songwriter. Called “an outstanding poet” (Inside Bluegrass), she was a Midwest Finalist for the prestigious NewSong Contest and has been featured nationally on SiriusXM Radio and CMT.com. Her new album Eyes on the Sky artfully mixes her signature blend of folk, bluegrass and soulful Americana that has become a hallmark of her live shows. Performing with her award-winning band, she brings a playful energy to the stage even when singing the saddest of songs.

Jaspar Lepak is a folk/Americana songwriter whose remarkable gift for melody is only surpassed by her poetry. Deeply influenced by the many places she has called home (Tucson, Durban, Seattle, and Minneapolis), she sweeps across landscapes with an emotional depth that is extraordinary while her clear, pure voice touches the heart. As Rolling Stone Africa says, “You’ll find more than enough beauty and original charm to make you a fan.”
