Admiral Fox sounds range from introspective indie folk to synth-flavored garage rock. Following the release of their 2020 EP Nowhere is Safe, their music has been slanting away from the acoustic singer-songwriter crooners of their debut, and heading into louder, more electric, and more socially conscious territory. Though they’ll always find time for a sad-boy ballad or three.

A genre-blending ensemble that is lush with guitars, piano, saxophones, cellos, voices, and percussion, centered in heartfelt lyrics led by a rich dynamic voice. Pulling elements from a variety of folk, jazz, and rock styles, Willow Waters & The Earth Tones create a wholly original sound that reflects the energy of the Earth herself. The breath of the wind, the crackle of a pinewood fire, the thrush of a river’s rapids can all be heard as the source for most of Willow’s writing.

Minneapolis’ Rabeca never stays in one place for too long—each song meanders from meditative solos to upbeat drum shuffles and rich chordal harmonies. The quintet first joined forces for a living room cabaret performance in 2019 and have since melded their unique musical tastes into a hearty musical stew. Drawing on their individual backgrounds in jazz big band, madrigal singing, and jam bands, Rabeca fuses improvisation with catchy hooks. Their debut album, Potluck (2020). captures the band’s playful energy and love for a good meal. Rabeca is Alex (keys), Anna (saxophone), Colleen (guitar), David (bass), and Satchel (drums).

Ghosting Merit is an indie pop project based in Minneapolis, fronted by songwriter Syd Casey. Their dreamy, melodic sound has evolved into a high energy live performance with the help of band members Bailey Cogan, Emma Garau, and Nathan Johnston.
