Minneapolis-based singer-songwriter Sarah Streitz brings a new twist to the Americana label that best describes her sound. Rhythmic, country and blues rock-tinged, her songs are raw, her phrasing sharp and she performs with easy attitude. The mother of four, a former teacher and an artist, Sarah took up the guitar in 2012, started writing songs shortly thereafter and released her first record in 2015. She credits her knack for songwriting to a life-long love of jazz standards, her obsession with Hank Williams and her study of literature, poetry and languages. A follow-up recording is underway and due out at the end of this year.
