Amy LeVere + Will Sexton
Tuesday, June 7, 2016 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm
$10Hailed by critics as “a uniquely Memphis blend of grit and delicacy” and “filled with just enough charm to melt the heart,” Amy LaVere is an American singer, songwriter, bass player, and storyteller. She has recorded four releases on the Archer Records label – This World Is Not My Home (2005), Anchors & Anvils (2007), an EP, Died of Love (2009), and Stranger Me (2011). The London Times says Amy “takes the audience into a world where R&B tunes, country waltzes, rockabilly shuffles, and funky Americana music are welded together and given a slightly Gothic twist.”

Will Sexton is an artist developed by the unique diversity of the Austin music scene, which placed him on stage with local legends before he’d lived out his first decade. Many of the sounds of his childhood still resonate in his current work.
Will has a wide range of credits as a musician, producer and songwriter, from collaborations with Waylon Jennings, to psychedelic pioneer Roky Erikson and punk legend Johnny Thunders. Will has written for MCA and Almo Irving, and recorded for MCA, A&M, and Zoo Entertainment. Will was in the New Folk Underground with David Baerwald, which resulted in the co-produced (w/ David Kitay) Lost Highway release Here Comes the New Folk Underground.
Will’s first independent release, Scenes From Nowhere, received a four-star review and was honored in the Top 5 Releases of 2001 by the Austin American-Statesman. Will performs regularly around Austin, showcasing his catalog of songs written over the past two decades.
This year marks the completion of new production credits, including Randy Weeks’ Going My Way, and Ruby James’ new CD, Happy Now, co-produced with his brother Charlie Sexton.
A previously unreleased recording, 2004’s Bus Stop Gossip has been unearthed and is now available online, at Waterloo Records in Austin and at Will’s live shows. Recently, Will just finished a new record of his own material, the newly available Move The Balance.
