Chris Koza is a composer / performer based in the Twin Cities, where the mighty Mississippi River cuts through the thriving urban landscapes of Minneapolis and St. Paul. This convergence of nature and city is reflected in Chris’s songwriting where elements of folk and country merge with pop and rock to create a modern take on Americana music. With an emphasis on storytelling as seen through the observant eyes of a night owl, Chris’s lyrics trend poetic and reach for phrasings and illuminations that reward the thoughtful listener.

Since 2005, Chris has released over 15 albums and EP’s both solo and with his band Rogue Valley. 2021 saw the release of two new collections of music: Sleepwalkers part. 2: The Rain Collector, and the instrumental album: On Horseshoe Lake. Chris is currently working on albums with other artists (Lucy Michelle; Alien of Nature) while methodically putting the finishing touches on a new Rogue Valley set.

Joining Chris at the Aster are two accomplished artists who have long made a reputation for themselves in the Twin Cities and beyond: multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter Jillian Rae, and synth-pop-artist Jøur. The three will share songs in an in-the-round style, and also team up for a couple together as well. Chris will preview a few new songs written during these early months of 2022 as well as some long-gestating tunes from the forthcoming new Rogue Valley album.
