Delicate Friend, a pseudonym and project started by Andrea Leonard, is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist currently based in Saint Paul. Considering her voice her “main instrument”, Andrea writes voice-led original songs that let her raw, symbolic lyrics and driving melodies lead the way. Her full band, including musicians Kourtney Ryan, Rachel Bearinger, and Dan Crist, adds a grittier complexity to her original songs. Equally inspired by folk heroes like Joni Mitchell and Nick Drake and 90s/2000s staples like Alanis Morisette, Deftones and Massive Attack, her songs relish in storytelling while sometimes taking a deeper, darker turn.
