Good Night Gold Dust & Tom Aydan (Indie/Pop)
Saturday, June 18, 2016 @ 9:00 pm - 11:00 pm
$7Good Night Gold Dust is a Mankato, MN-based electro indie pop quartet comprised of vocalists/guitarists Laura Schultz and Colin Scharf, drummer Michelle Roche, and synth player Zachary Arney. Formed in 2014, this lineup teamed up with Minneapolis producer Brett Bullion (Bad Bad Hats, John Mark Nelson) to record their first studio EP, self-titled Good Night Gold Dust (released Nov. 2015), an album of ethereal vocals, glitchy guitars, dark synthesizers, and a mixture of live and electronic drums. Clash Magazine premiered the self-titled EP’s first music video in Oct 5, 2015, calling “Broken Wing” a “swooping, soaring piece of songwriting”. YVYNL premiered second single “Waves” on Oct 20, 2015, calling the track “dark but not hopeless”. Andrea Swensson of 89.3 the Current called GNGD “super polished, harmonic, brooding indie pop”. Good Night Gold Dust was a finalist in the Minneapolis Star Tribune’s Are You Local? 2016, and has shared stages with HAELOS, Mynabirds, Bad Bad Hats, Kopecky, We Are The Willows, Sofia Talvik, Warehouse Eyes, Bae Tigre, Bora York, Low, and Cloud Cult, among many others.
Mystical. Swirling. And descended from an accent line of Sheikh’s, Tom Aydan will introduce you to his unique musical language. Abyss in its place. Receive your echo. The tongue lacerates and creates the dimensions of the mind-pushing through the eye.. you never will- for it is not in there- it is outside and expanding rapidly- once more. Temple drums, the white palace of black suns.
