Introducing the Yellow-Bellied Sapsuckers Band with special guest David Huss (Hillbilly Country) $10
Thursday, August 8, 2019 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Introducing the Sapsuckers Band featuring Chris Hepola (drums) and Eric Struve (bass), along with brand-new original country/Americana music from Nikki Groissman and Joe Hart.
THE YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKERS’ original songs are a refreshing brand-new take on old-time country. Their music recalls classic hillbilly music, while bringing a distinctly modern and lively touch to the Americana genre.
Based in Soldiers Grove, WI, the duo (Nikki Grossman, guitar, fiddle, and vocals; Joe Hart, guitar, mandolin, and vocals) have built a growing audience throughout the Midwest of fans who appreciate their lighthearted performances.
The Sapsuckers launched their 2018 album, “Don’t Think About Tomorrow Tonight,” at an official SXSW showcase, where they earned a standing ovation from attendees, as well as numerous Midwest tour dates. The album was co-produced by John Wood (Richard and Linda Thompson, Cat Stevens, Incredible String Band). The Sapsucker’s video for the song “Fools Were Made to be Broken” was premiered by Radio Heartland on Minnesota Public Radio, The Current. Their 2015 album, “Ocooch Mountain Home,” (their second), has received high praise from the likes of fROOTS, Bluegrass Today, and Country Music People UK.
In 2018, the Sapsuckers were nominated for Best Country Band in Wisconsin by the Wisconsin Area Music Industry Association.
