Saturday, November 16 @ 9:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Growing up on a farm, as the son of a veterinarian, David Ross helped with work on many farms within the Root River region of MN.
He had a large family and his mother taught the siblings to play piano and sing melody and harmony.
David’s songwriting combines life’s experience of love, longing, and learning, with his love for music.
David Ross performs with “americana roots” group Root River Jam.
Root River Jam elevates musical improv through the fusion of blues, country, rock and americana music.
Their music draws from the spark of creativity and individuality in each musician, producing songs and sounds that draw you in to their eclectic style!
The band is in the recording phase for a new album. And are excited as singer/songwriter David Ross gets ready to release “Joy of Something New” November 16th 2024.
Releasing a single; “Showed Me That You Love Me” in November of 2023. The track is the first as they produce new material for an album. It’s projected release is 2026.
In November of 2022 the group self-produced and released “Love is Unity”. A double length album inspired by events happening during the pandemic as well as previously written material. A call for unity is heard in the ep’s title track.
They released their debut album in March of 2017. After a wildly successful release party in Rochester, MN they have been traveling to new destinations promoting their music. 2017 proved to be their breakout year and one of transition towards new destinations in their musical journey.
Emmy Woods (she/they) was born and raised on an old dirt road in rural North Dakota and currently resides in Saint Paul, Minnesota. With hints of country, folk, and blues, Emmy’s songs showcase her knack for storytelling, her strengths in musical artistry, and an impressive vocal range and ability. When asked to summarize her music in three words, Dr. Kyle Smith replied, “Queer Farm Vibes.”
While Emmy has been writing songs for over 20 years, her first collection of songs, tristia bella, as well as her albums The Manifold and Delirium were not released until March 2023. Since then, she has released three singles and and an EP with her band, Emmy Woods & the Red Pine Ramblers, and continues to gain momentum with her genre bending sound.
