The Pinkerton Raid + Dusty Forever with Nicholas Johnson $12
Thursday, March 9, 2023 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm
The Pinkerton Raid’s songs travel through forest legends and foreign lands, blackjack games and French bistros, photo albums and feminist awakenings, all backdrops for human drama of the genuine kind. 2022’s THE HIGHWAY MOVES THE WORLD begins two decades ago in Jesse James DeConto’s childhood basement, where he learned The Beatles and first turned a songwriter’s eye on his own rich and complicated family life. “Radiant,” says AMERICAN SONGWRITER. “Poignant,” says ROLLING STONE. Since the lockdowns, Jesse is back on the road with a totally new lineup, but, as always, a gang of friends with a full-band sound. The Durham, NC-based band has played at festivals from Georgia to Ohio, sharing stages with Liz Cooper, The Bones of JR Jones and The Nude Party. “A sound for dreamers around a campfire,” says GHETTOBLASTER.

Dusty Forever is an alternative folk-rock project. Their linear song structures guide you through vivid yet dreamlike stories, such as a dog’s experience with space exploration or a daydreaming kid stuck out in left field. Hazy yet firm vocals paired with an emphasis on ambience and textural instrumental moments, Dusty Forever’s music is a warm invitation to cozy up and immerse yourself in the sound. Dusty Forever’s debut album “Sing !” is out now.
Cincinnati, Ohio: Where the south meets the Midwest. It’s also the best way to describe the music of Kentucky-born Singer/Songwriter Nicholas Johnson; Southern roots meets Midwest rust belt rock. On his first new album in two years, “Back Upstate” puts all of that on display by crafting a mix of heartbreakingly genuine songs and genre-bending rockers in the spirit of songwriting heroes like Tom Petty and Jeff Tweedy.
