‘We use the word rock loosely, as a descriptor for something that is definitely not anything but rock, but a type of rock that is thoughtful, sometimes introspective, sometimes full of rejoicing. We are grateful for the continued opportunity to rock.’

Matt Wilson and John Munson have been playing music together off and on for about twenty years. They started tasted some success with their psychedelic, and flowery pop band Trip Shakespeare, which also featured Matt’s brother Dan (who went on to form Semisonic with John, charting a hit with the song “Closing Time”) and Elaine Harris.

During the most of the nineties they tried to stay out of one another’s hair but then as the decade came to a close they formed up again as The Flops, a folk duo which led them to realize that volume was their friend and they should start a rock band again: thus, The Twilight Hours.
